Laura joined the PGI team in 2013 as a foster home/trainer and hasn’t looked back!  She has served as a past Running with the Dogs chair and currently sits on our executive committee as the training chair, where she works with recipients and trainers to help ensure successful placements for our dogs-in-training.  Laura has fostered and placed 7 service and facility dogs in her time with PGI. She also works closely with our Helping Paws Program to ensure a smooth transition when it comes time for the dogs to be released and finish their training.

In her professional life, Laura works as the development coordinator for Best Buddies Illinois, a non-profit that fosters one-on-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Her time with PGI was part of her decision to make a career move in this direction.  When not volunteering with PGI, Laura loves to travel and is always looking for a new place to visit!
